Happy
New Year!
On reflecting on last year, it was a year of change and growth.
We reorganized the pharma group. We entered new markets. We implemented
new systems and processes. However as I have said many times-a
company is only as good as the people who represent it. I want
to thank each and every one of you for your contribution. It is
your dedication to excellence that makes our brands shine a little
brighter in the marketplace.
Now it’s time to look forward. The New Year is a time for
excitement and optimism. We have sales budget to overshoot and
compensate for loss of sale in the last six months, if any. Together
we have positioned our company for an incredible year. We have
never entered a year with more opportunity, more talented people,
or a more focused organization, than we have now. New year is
also the time forhonesty and reality. This year won’t be
a cake walk. We have never entered a year with more competitors,
or a tougher marketplace. The ability to reach our potential and
overcome our challenges lies within each of us. Simply put, it
comes down to three very basic cornerstones: attitude, personal
accountability, and perseverance.
I can be sure of one thing. There will be setbacks and successes
in 2010. We need to maintain a positive attitude that allows us
to celebrate each win as a victory and each set-back as an opportunity
to learn and develop. We will accept personal responsibility for
our daily actions and recognize that each of us is either part
of the problem or part of the solution; and that ultimately the
choice is ours. Finally, we need to have the perseverance to work
through the tough times and stay aggressive during the year.
The only person who controls our success in 2010 is you. I, and
the rest of the Senior Management Team, can set the direction,
but it is the choices that each of you make a hundred times a
day that drives our progress. Yes, we have a lot of opportunities
this year. Yes, there will be obstacles along our way. But, in
the end, the measure of our success will be a direct reflection
of how you use your minutes and how much of yourself you’re
willing to invest. In short, Shelys Africa's success rests in
your hands.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what makes me so excited and
optimistic about 2010. All the Best.
